Releasing animals is a lengthy process and we always ensure, with the aid of the Ministery, that every animal we release has undergone the proper processes for release. Many refuges release animals without the proper standards of release procedure and these animals can die or end up back in a refuge. Many of the animals that come to us are damaged or acclimatized to humans. We have many of these animals here as we never say no to an animal if we have the space. We usually make space if we have none at the time. Therefore most of the animals that come to us have been rejected by other refuge centers as lost causes. But we persevere.
We have had many releases: Cuchucho, monkeys, snakes, sloths, birds etc. Every release is a triumph and the volunteers can come with us for the release and share in our excitement at a job well done and an animal back where it should be.
